Me to We Awards History
Canadians across our great country sometimes don't recognize or value the work we do to help others - and we thought that should change! So Craig and Marc Kielburger, co-authors of the bestselling book Me to We and their idea-rich Me to We Director Russ McLeod met up with the forward thinking leaders of Canadian Living to create the Me to We Awards.
So we launched the first ever Canadian Living Me to We Awards in February 2005 to pull together, celebrate, and tell your stories. And you responded!
We were inundated with people telling us about the work they did, the work others did, and the impact each person had on their community here at home.
Our selection panel read, sorted, piled, and re-read their favorites to find the most inspirational story in each of our five categories - and held the first ever Canadian Living Me to We gala event in Toronto in September 2005.
Past Winners
Marc and Craig Kielburger have a long list of accomplishments, including founding Nobel-prize nominated Free The Children, building schools and providing education to children around the world. And in the book Me to We, they have lots of stories to tell about their experiences. Now it's time to share yours!
